Be proud, JMA.

The UP Junior Marketing Association won the AGORA Youth Award for Marketing Association of the year 2009. After a long process of elimination, UP JMA emerged number one amongst other JMAs all over the country, and eventually bagged the prestigious award.

The journey began with the first leg wherein we were tasked to submit a portfolio of all our events for the past year. It ended with a comprehensive presentation of a marketing campaign. The presentation also included the organization’s profile.

The presentation was made last Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Asia Pacific College Auditorium. Esteemed marketing practitioners were among the panel of judges. UP JMA went against four other schools from different regions that also made it to the final round. UP Visayas got second place in the competition.

This was really a collective effort, proving that we really are on top of our game. Our exceptional events, planned and executed by our spirited JMAers, placed us where we are now. This achievement adds up to the numerous reasons why we should be proud to be, of course, JMAers.

Tambay week is a week-long event that aims to build and strengthen relationships among jmaers and applicants through a range of dynamic activities and games.

This semester’s tambay week brought the different seasons into the tambayan. The week was kicked off with spring where jmaers and apps played real life Plants vs. Zombies.

Plants VS Zombies Theme

This was followed by winter, where people chilled and ate sweets like wicked hiros and ice candies. In autumn, they fell in love with yum burgers and the week was ended with a sizzling summer where they got free massages and hotdogs.

You ever missed this days?

You ever missed this days?

The tambayan was packed with people who were eager to get a taste of the free food and engage in the games to get the prizes. But moreover, tambay week paved the way for jmaers and applicants to get to know each other and to prepare them for all the exciting events to come throughout the semester.

  • The Finalists’ entries will be displayed and judged accordingly for the winning design at the VIVA LA VIE BOHEME Gallery during Boheme on January 30, 2010 at the Hexagon Lounge, RCBC Plaza Makati. The winner will be awarded a cash prize of 6000php and premium items worth 4000php.

Please consider the following points when conceiving your artwork:

1. Size

Each entry should have a maximum size of 130cm x 130cm x 200cm.

2. Footprint

Given the need to maintain entrance and egress paths to comply with regulations, artwork should be designed to take up as little floor space as possible.

3. Height and Suspension

The tension grid and overhead setup of the VIVA LA VIE BOHEME GALLERY does not permit the hanging of works of art above the space. However, we still strongly recommend that artwork be designed to be relatively lightweight.

4. Installation

It is recommended that artwork be relatively easy to install and remove. UP JMA staff will assist in the installation, and artists are required to be present for, and active in the installation and removal process. Adequate time will be scheduled to install and strike art; please describe this process in your project proposal.

5. Audio-Visual components

While we do not envision the nature of this artwork to be solely video based, we are open to video being a component of an artist’s concept. However, under no circumstances can sound art be permitted, either with or without accompanying video.

6. Lighting

The venue will be using black lights as part of the overall visual effect of the event. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that artworks be visible in such lighting.
