What is UP JMA?

UP JMA is a duly recognized, non-stock, non-profit, university-wide student organization based in the UP College of Business Administration.

We are proudly a two-time winner of the Gawad Chancellor Award for Most Outstanding Student Organization in UP Diliman in 1996 and 2003, the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Agora Youth Awardee for Best Student Marketing Organization, and the 2003 Philippine Ad Congress’ Metro-wide Ad Making Contest Champion.

History

Founded in 1958 by an informal group of 20 marketing majors, UP JMA has grown into an association of 200 members coming from various colleges and academic disciplines.

UP JMA is a proud affiliate of the prestigious Philippine Marketing Association (PMA). UP JMA is also an active member and staunch supporter of the Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA).

Thrusts

ACADEMICS To supplement the student’s classroom theoretical experience with exposure to actual business and professional experiences.
SOCIALS To develop the student along lines acceptable and common to others.
SERVICE To open the student’s mind to the dimension of community problems and provides the opportunity to find solutions to them.
SPORTS To develop the student physically, so he or she will be more equipped to face the working world with a stronger mind and body.

Objectives

  • to promote the significance of marketing

  • to create venues for interaction between the faculty, the students, the alumni, and the public
  • to contribute to the welfare and the development of the country
